Considering the massive number of ladybirds produced they can be surprisingly hard to find. Of course a lot depends on the collector. If they want the final collection instantly then they will take a different approach to sourcing their books than if they enjoy the patient quest towards each new addition.

Currently finding ladybirds is not hard. Finding the titles you want is harder and finding the titles you want in the condition you want at the right price can be very difficult. Ladybird collecting can be particularly tricky in that some rare titles do not seem to be available at any price. This requires great dedication and perseverance in continually searching out these titles before another of the collectors snap them up.

Finding ladybirds is more than just good fortune though. Dedicated collectors will spend a lot of time and money travelling round to new locations to hunt out these elusive little books. This experience also allows them to keep a check on the current prices and to monitor which books are particularly sought after.
