| Introduction The last of the Easy Reading set. These books dealt with foreign countries in the simplified manner designed for the target inexperienced readers. Whilst all the books were illustrated by John Berry (who must have been working continuously for ladybird through this period!), the text of the first two books was written by Irene Dark and the last by Betty Scott Danniell. I have no factual evidence whatsoever but wonder whether this set was designed to take over from series 587 (Flight) as it was withdrawn around the time this series appeared. This series came in the standard matt pictorial covers but seem to have been withdrawn really quite early in the 1970's. |
