The two books in this short series were both written by Vera Southgate with illustrations by Jack Matthew. Again both take the Easy Reading approach and use simple language to explain the past and present of both games.

Both books originally came out with dust jackets over buff covers. They continued after in post-dust jacket form quite late into the late 1970's. There were continued revisions as both books contained lists of trophy winners with their respective years and the books had to be kept reasonably up to date.
