British Wild Flowers First published in 1957, by Wills & Hepworth, again by Brian Vesey-Fitzgerald. This time illustrations came from Rowland & Edith Hilder. The book features a large variety of British Flowers, illustrated in their typical settings. Using the same recognition style the book features several plants and flowers, in a large illustrations. Together with a key picture and accompanying text. Early edtions came complete with dust jackets. In my collection I have also managed to obtain a "Proof Copy" - identical in every way to the later copies apart from the cover is a light pink textured style with no text or drawing on it whatsoever. First editions, whilst not stated, would be the last listed on the rear flap of the jacket. As the next title in the series followed up later in 1957, it seems reasonable to assume that any of this title that is last listed is a first edition. |
