  Aventures of Wonk

The "Adventures of Wonk" are one of the most sought after series by all collectors. All the books contained two short stories detailing the adventures of our heroes, Wonk and his friend Peter. The quaint tales, written by Muriel Levy "Auntie Muriel of Radio Fame", and stylised artwork, by Kiddell-Monroe, seem to have a attraction all of their own.

This early series was one of the first to come out. The quality of the dust jackets in particular seems to be much poorer than other books issued at the same time, perhaps because of the general war shortages. It is rare to find jackets in good condition, they have often become torn and even missing whole pieces.

Another feature seems to be that the covers of the books varied in colour between editions (although it is not easy to tell as my source books are very limited).

The books ceased to be produced somewhere between 1955-1957.
