Once again the DJ details a first publication in 1940 but the book details 1941. Either way story and illustrations are A.J.MacGregor with the revised verses of Perring. However in the earliest copy I have (undated, probable 1st) the verses are actaully by E.M.Coghlin. The earliest copy I have with Perring verses is detailed as 3rd, 1943.

"This delightfully illustrated story, told in verse, is about a mischievous squirrel called Bob Bushtail, and the adventure he gets into when he finds himself lost in the woods."

Coghlin edition starts:

Mrs. Bushtail, as you see,

Has a handsome family!

Perring edition starts:

Bobby Bushtail was a squirrel
